Extraordinary General Meeting

The committee of Wheatfields Nursery called an Extraordinary General Meeting of the membership of the Wheatfields Nursery for Pre-School Education Association (registered charity 288809) which took place on Friday 7th August at 8pm.
​
This EGM was called to vote on transferring running of the nursery to Wheatfields Primary School and dissolve the charity.
​
This meeting was the next part of the ongoing work that has been taking place between the school and the nursery to secure the long term future of nursery provision for the Wheatfields catchment area. We first communicated this to all parents back in February - read here.
​
We had not been able to communicate anything further until announcing this meeting as the school have been carrying out a number of regulatory and financial checks prior to seeking formal approval from their governing body to proceed.
​
The school have completed their necessary due diligence in conjunction with the local authority and confirmed to the nursery their willingness to take over management of the nursery from the current volunteer-led committee charity structure.
​
Covid-19 has delayed the process that we were initially hoping might be completed for September 2020. The proposed transfer date is now Monday 2nd November 2020.
​
For this to be possible, the current membership of nursery needed to vote in favour of this and at the EGM on Friday 7th August they did so.
